Dynamics of Bidirectional Associative Memory Networks with Processing Delays

A mathematical model describing the dynamical interactions of the bidirectional associative memory networks, incorporating among other things processing time delays, has been proposed in this paper. The existence and stability characteristics of the equilibrium patterns have been discussed. Results on local asymptotic stability of the equilibrium patterns have been presented. Three sets of easi...

Information Theoretic Multi-modal Signal Processing

We present an information theoretic approach to multi-modal signal processing, and validate the framework with illustrative examples from medical image processing and multi-media signal processing. The approach tries to adaptively identify that pair of feature space representations of a pair of multi-modal signals which carries maximal redundancy. Analogously, we can say that the framework extr...

Continuous classifying associative memory

In this article we present the so-called continuous classifying associative memory, able to store continuous patterns avoiding the problems of spurious states and data dependency. This is a memory model based on our previously developed classifying associative memory, which enables continuous patterns to be stored and recovered. We will also show that the behavior of this continuous classifying...

Optical information processing based on an associative-memory model of neural nets with thresholding and feedback.

The remarkable collective computational properties of the Hopfield model for neural networks [Proc. Nat. Acad. Sci. USA 79, 2554 (1982)] are reviewed. These include recognition from partial input, robustness, and error-correction capability. Features of the model that make its optical implementation attractive are discussed, and specific optical implementation schemes are given.
